Coronary Circulation: The 12 Lead Link Between Symptoms and Diagnosis Julie Miller, RN, BSN, CCRN President: Paws to Learn Abstract: Designed for nurses who just cannot remember what artery feeds which wall, and what potential problems should I be watching for? This session will focus on an in depth review of the coronary circulation, types of myocardial infarctions and assessment clues based on type of MI. Key content will include: correlation between coronary artery and the wall of the heart it feeds; identifying which artery is involved based on type of myocardial infarction (MI); identifying which leads of the 12 lead ECG look at which wall of the heart; and identifying potential complications for each type of MI. Participants should bring a desire to enhance their understanding of 12 lead ECG’s and evaluation of the acute MI patient. Objectives: Correlate the anatomy of the coronary arteries to the walls of the heart. Describe potential assessment findings based on type of MI. Identify which leads of the 12 lead ECG correspond to which wall of the heart.
