Deciphering Dysrhythmias … Case Study Clues to Rhythm Disturbances! Preconference Proposal Julie Miller, RN, BSN, CCRN Abstract: Dysrhythmia interpretation can be a challenge. Identifying dysrhythmias is just the beginning of basic dysrhythmia interpretation. This session will cover a review of dysrhythmia analysis, nursing assessment, management and implications of dysrhythmias. Key content will include: Differentiation of tachycardic/bradycardic dysrhythmias, narrow/wide complex dysrhythmias, clues to treatment modalities, laboratory abnormalities that may cause dysrhythmias & precautions for dysrhythmia treatment will be covered. Pharmacologic management of dysrhythmias and the nurses’ role in preventing complications and maintaining patient safety with dysrhythmia management will be emphasized. The format will allow for ample practice time to solidify dysrhythmia interpretation skills.
